Criminal Investigations Division
Three (3) CID Deputies have the primary duties of investigating criminal complaints and major crimes. This Division is commonly referred to the Criminal Investigations Division or "CID". Our Detectives have attended specialized training courses and schools in order to stay up-to-date with evolving investigative techniques and sharpen their investigative skills. CID Detectives follow up on calls for service involving burglaries, thefts, sexual assaults, deaths, and more. Basically, any property crime or crime against persons that cannot be quickly cleared by a Patrol Deputy, is forwarded to CID for further investigation. Detectives utilize specialized investigative equipment or techniques to assist with the recovery of evidence and information needed to successfully locate and charge criminals.
Additionally, CID utilizes crime-tips from the public to assist with their investigations. Milam County Crime Stoppers has proven to be a very effective tool in generating information to help solve numerous criminal cases or catch fugitives on the run. Persons wishing to give information regarding a crime can call Milam County Crime Stoppers at 888-697-TIPS (8477) or information can be submitted electronically on their website located at milamcounty.crimestoppersweb.com. Remember you never have to leave your name and you can receive cash payments for information helping to solve a crime or leading to an arrest.
